Tribe Norfolk Weekend 13-14th July 2019

Celebrating what Norfolk has to offer

Tribe Norfolk is an amazing group of Norfolkians who dedicate time to celebrating, supporting and shining a spotlight on Norfolk based businesses, creators, and artists. Last year they launched ‘Tribe Norfolk Weekend’ a festival at the magnificently picturesque Happy Valley campsite in Grimston, Norfolk. The festival boats an impressive array of stalls, entertainment, food, music, workshops and of course camping (and glamping!).

I was super excited when I was asked to go along and run a workshop but in the end I just didn’t have the capacity and time to commit to it (at that point I was only 6 months into starting my business!). So I had promised myself I would be in a position to get involved this year….and am thrilled to confirm I will be there!

Stitch Me Happy Workshops

I will be running workshops for small groups to get creative and make their own necklace or wristband to wear with pride during the festival and take home as a reminder of the awesome Tribe Norfolk Weekend experience!

Grown ups and children can have fun learning how to turn old clothes and fabric scraps into simple and effective jewellery. I’m really getting into doing my best to limit the waste involved in sewing/clothes making, so all of the buttons, beads, ribbon, feathers and tassels that can be added to the handmade jewellery are remnants/second hand or made from second hand materials. This is a fantastic and very easy way to up-cycle, reuse, renew, reinvent, and get crafty whatever your age and skill level (with the added bonus of getting a lovely sense of satisfaction from making something with your own two hands!). No skills or experience necessary.

 Workshop duration: Approx 30 - 45 mins

Cost: £3.50 per person or £12.50 for a group/family of 4 . No need to book; pay (cash only) on the day.

Ages: Most suitable for age 5 years upwards (younger siblings are very welcome to come and join in under the supervision of their parents/guardians but may need extra help making their jewellery). All children up to the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Let’s Talk Sewing

If you’re attending Tribe Norfolk Weekend you can also come and chat to me about making your own clothes, up-cycling and altering clothes, or other sewing projects. I’m always very happy to talk sewing!! I have sewing class slots available from June and will have flyers and information with me at Tribe Norfolk Weekend about my classes and my Sewing Club.

I’m so proud to be from Norfolk and to now be a (teeny, weeny, tiny!) Norfolk based business owner so I’m very excited to be taking part in this festival and celebrate the brilliant things that we have to offer.
